Oh crap its almost mothers day

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

So as it stands im super late on getting a gift for mommy. In fact im always late and usually end up getting flowers/card/movie combo (its like a video game, maybe if i throw in a box of truffles ill get a x4 multiplier to my points). I don’t think thats gonna fly this year though. As it stands i have a couple websites, one of which sells Get Well Gift baskets. So I went’a truckin for a gift basket for my mommy, and long behold i had a page for Mothers day gift baskets. Makes it pretty simple doesnt it.

Ok that sounded lame, lemme give you some history as to why I didnt know that i had a page for gift baskets. Basically in 2006 i started building my own eccomerce company, and after it was all said and done i gave it to my parents becuase i just didnt have the time to manage them. Now my only dilemma is trying to get the basket without my mom finding out becuase she see’s all orders.

Check it out you might be surprised what i have to offer on my site :)

Yay, I have a PR rating google

Monday, May 5th, 2008

So I woke up today pretty darn early to get to work. As it stands i completely forgot to set up a computer for a new hire, so i thought i would get in early. Unfortunately the new hire still beat me in. Well all said and done its nine o’clock and i just finished getting her all dialed in. My daily routine usually consists of checking all my email, hitting youtube, digg, and then checking my websites. So i got to my website and long behold i have a PR rating of 2. Uber usually when i check my PR it says “Website does not exist in records”. Pretty damn cool. I also jumped to page one for my name Jason Rogers.

I checked my pr with this tool prchecker.info. Oh and for all those that dont know. PR stands for Page Rank. Its how google ranks websites out of 0/10.

My take on Oblivion GOTY for PS3

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

oblivion_goty.jpgTrip out, two game reviews in the last couple weeks….very unlike me. So i picked this game up mid 2007 on PC. Great game except for the fact that i couldn’t run it very well, so i pretty much put it aside. Well recently after purchasing a PS3 i bought this game again. Damn ive spent 120 bucks on this game. A side note: You need to play on a large HD, i have a 1080i 57inch, and its uber.

So far the game is pretty cool, but i believe it really picked up when i entered the shivering isles. Its a constant epic tale where the decisions you make change everything. Basically there are two areas, the upper half and lower half of the isle. The upper is controlled by Mania and in turn is pretty beautifull to look at. In inverse is the lower half is controlled by Dementia and it looks pretty dark and evil. Mania is full the creative artists and philosopher who are out of there minds. Dementia is essentially a load of people that are sickly near dieing. They steal and kill and are pretty much really sadistic. Along the story you essentially get to choose your side among several different points. I choose mainy the Mania side. Basically the side you pick determines slightly some of the items you pick. Like Mania the side i picked i get a lot of light armor that gives stats that benefit magic.

I only have one major problem so far. My brother was playing on it and got bit by a vampire, so he went and did the quest to cure it. Long behold the quest wouldnt complete and he got stuck as a vampire. After some research online i found that the ps3 version is glitched and if you dont cure vampirism within 3 days, your essentially stuck as a vampire.

So all in all i give the game 9/10. I love the expansion, but the normal oblivion game is just good..not uber.

Why do we have leap year?

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Well, i’ve never actually cared until today…The day before. Tomorow happens to be leap year, and the first time ive noticed. So as follows im doing research to figure it out. I can think of a few theories. The most being that our lunar year is off slightly so we compensate every four years with an extra day. Hmm. Maybe it has something to do with the time changes twice a year, however im pretty sure those are just a waste of time. There just a way for the farmers to get an extra couple hours during planting season. Which to me is a waste of time for the rest of us. Ok maybe there is no connection that i can see for the that last one, but i wanted to complain anyways.

So i simply went to wikipedia and found this “In the Gregorian calendar, the current standard calendar in most of the world, most years that are divisible by 4 are leap years. In a leap year, the month of February has 29 days instead of 28. Adding an extra day to the calendar every four years compensates for the fact that a solar year is almost 6 hours longer than 365 days.” Check it out here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leap_year. There is mroe info on it.

Kinda solves it all. I guess i was right on my first theory.

Southern California fires.

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

There so bad. Im at work right now and its been so bad that my boss said this week isnt required to work. The ash is literally falling from the sky.
Southern California fires The one burning here at work is the Santiago Fire which is supposedly started by and Arson. WTF seriously why would you start a fire like this. I honestly cant even fathom a reason that would justify this much damage. Yesterday we could see flames on the hilltop at work. To bad i didnt get a picture of it at that time. To top it all off ive been mostly working in our server room the last couple days setting up a new server and unfortunatly this room is located in the warehouse with an open door so all the ash can fly in. I have the worst soar throat ever from this.

New look to a semi old site

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

So the site is finally back.  After all the changes maybe this time the site will remain like this.  I figured it would be nice to have a solid site with a backend for me to update rather then how i was doing it before.  I chose to go with word press because after installing it at my work i really enjoyed working with it.  Now that the site is live i will keep making changes to the look until it meets it final evolution some time soon.  Keep in touch.

Thanks to:

Wordpress, I use wordpress for the backend to neuroticgeeks now instead of coding it from hand like i used to
  • Scriptaculous, for all the bad ass efects
  • Magpie rss fetcher, for the feed that i created in the footer to show random 5 images from my flickr acount
  • Flickr, for my images
  • -Helix
